Mapbox and Maplibre allow you to create 3D extrusions which are akin to normal polygons. You can see some examples and . With this, you can not only illustrate certain kinds of data through using height, but also create composite 3D shapes using multiple polygons. .
To create a 3D extrusion, go into Maps > Polygons and select "3D" from the dropdown Polygon Style. You can then edit the Color, Base Height, and Top Height. Note that Opacity is set to 0.75 (75%), since this cannot be set per-property in Mapbox GL JS. However, if this is a problem for you please get in touch with us.
